Overview
QuickWords AI ("the App") is a language learning application developed by PappsLabs ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what third-party services are involved.
Authentication
The App uses Sign in with Apple for account creation. When you sign in, Apple provides a unique identifier that we use to create your account via Firebase Authentication. We do not access or store your Apple ID email address unless you choose to share it.
Your Firebase user ID is used solely to authenticate API requests and manage your subscription status.
Data Collection & Storage
We collect and store the following:
- On-device data — Your flashcards, study progress, and learning statistics are stored locally on your device using Core Data. This data is not synced to our servers.
- Authentication data — Your Firebase user ID is stored on our servers to authenticate requests.
- AI-generated content cache — To improve performance and reduce redundant processing, we cache AI-generated outputs (such as translations, example sentences, thumbnails, and audio) on our servers. This cache is keyed by content hash, not by user identity.
AI Features
When you use AI-powered features — flashcard generation, example sentences, translations, and text-to-speech — your input text is sent to our server and processed using Google Gemini AI services. Specifically:
- Topics and language preferences are sent for flashcard generation.
- Words and phrases are sent for example sentence generation and translation.
- Text is sent for audio/speech generation via Google Vertex AI.
We do not use your input data to train AI models. Google's use of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy and Data Processing terms.
Subscriptions
The App uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat receives your Firebase user ID and purchase transaction data from Apple. RevenueCat's handling of this data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
Crash Reporting
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash reports and error logs. This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports may include device type, OS version, and stack traces, but do not include your personal data or flashcard content.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, App Check, and Crashlytics.
- Google Gemini / Vertex AI (Google) — AI-powered flashcard generation, translations, examples, and text-to-speech.
- RevenueCat — Subscription and purchase management.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and StoreKit for in-app purchases.
What We Don't Do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not serve ads or use advertising trackers.
- We do not track your behavior or collect usage analytics.
- We do not share your data with third parties beyond the services listed above.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your on-device data can be deleted at any time by removing the app. Cached AI-generated content on our servers is not linked to your identity and is retained to improve performance. To request deletion of your Firebase account and any associated server-side data, contact us at the email below.
Children's Privacy
QuickWords AI does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
